SYLVIA MEHL has been a licensed physical therapist for over twenty years. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 1983 with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science. She earned her master’s degree in Physical Therapy at USC in 1985. She has had a variety of professional experiences in both outpatient and hospital settings and has participated in continuing education since graduation. Sylvia became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 1995 and was recently awarded her re-certification for ten years. She has worked in the South Bay for the last 13 years where she specializes in all orthopedic injuries and disorders with particular focus on the temporomandibular joint and the spine. Sylvia opened Head 2 Toe Physical Therapy in February 2004. She is married and the mother of two children. She loves to read, exercise, and watch USC football.

LAUREN PERRONE began her physical therapy career at UCLA working in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient acute care, and the student health and wellness center. With over eight years of outpatient rehabilitation experience and extensive continuing education, she has expanded her expertise and skill set with a strong focus in manual therapy. Lauren received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary’s College, and in 2005, received her OCS designation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from UCSB, where she was also a four year member of the women’s gymnastics team. Lauren has lived in the South Bay for eight years and enjoys running and snowboarding.

TRICIA CARNIVAL attained her Masters in Physical Therapy at the Arizona School of Health Science, an osteopathic-based school of medicine. She has been practicing outpatient physical therapy for 8 years and she became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) in 2004. She has been a proud supporter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since graduate school. In addition to her experience in general orthopedic rehabilitation, she has experience with the following areas: lymphatic drainage, temporomandibular disorders, pregnancy-related issues, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She continues to expand her knowledge and interest in her field by taking weekend courses on current techniques and treatment approaches. Included in her studies was a year-long manual therapy class that focused on eclectic techniques for treating the entire body. Outside of work, Tricia is a full-time mother, a wife and an athlete. She believes in balanced life style, continued learning, and overall good health.

CAROLYN COWIE KRAMER graduated from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Carolyn was a professional ballet dancer in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Part of her interest in becoming a PT was to work with dancers. During Carolyn’s 10 years of orthopaedic physical therapy experience, she has practiced in a variety of outpatient settings seeing patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Carolyn is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS). One of Carolyn’s priorities is to expand her knowledge and keep her skills current. She has taken many continuing education courses including 2 year long manual therapy classes, classes in pelvic girdle dysfunction, taping techniques and a Pilates mat class for physical therapists. When not working at Head 2 Toe Physical Therapy, Carolyn is a mother of 2 elementary age children and is busy coaching their sport teams, working in their classrooms and active in the PTA.

TIM ENDAYA started his career as a certified athletic trainer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education / Athletic Training at California State University at Northridge (1986). He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Physical Education / Athletic Training from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. (1988). He has worked with a wide variety of athletes ranging from the high school level to professional athletes. In 1998, he earned his Physical Therapy Assistant’s license. In 2000, he changed his full time career to education. He currently holds his single subject clear credential in physical education and teaches middle school physical education. Although he teaches full time he continues to work part-time as a physical therapy assistant because he enjoys working with people and problem solving to help people get to their lifestyle.

Danielle Orland, PT, DPT, OCS, CMP, was born and raised in the South Bay. She attended Boston College where she studied health sciences and graduated with a degree in Spanish. While at Boston College, she was a member of the varsity swim team where she first became interested in sports related injuries and physical therapy. After college, she returned to Southern California to attend the University of Southern California where she received her doctor of physical therapy degree in 2001. Since her matriculation from USC she has gained extensive hands on experience in treating patients will all types of injuries, especially treatment of the foot and ankle. She has extensive postgraduate training and is a certified Mulligan practitioner. She received her Orthopaedic Clinical Specialty in June 2007 after passing an extensive certification exam. She has had the unique opportunity to study under some of the most renowned physical therapists in the United States and throughout the international community. She is also fluent in Spanish giving her the ability to treat both English and Spanish speaking patients. In her free time Danielle likes traveling, reading, and exercising. |
